Application Areas
It can be applied to aluminum, galvanized and stainless steel, zinc, copper, natural stone, concrete, brick, cement-based coating sheets, HPL panels, processed woods, gypsum boards, various synthetic materials in the construction industry without applying primer. It is used in interior and exterior expansion joints of buildings, assembly applications of window and door frames, roof and creek gutters, junction areas during the production of container and prefabricated structures, curtain wall applications, patio, bathroom, kitchen assembly application details of structures.
Application
It is applied between +5°C and +40°C. The materials and joints to be applied must be clean, free from dust and oil. DERBYSOLV DV can be used for degreasing. DERBYPRIMER 25 is recommended for highly absorbent concrete surfaces. Before applying to the entire surface, the users are responsible for performing the suitability and adhesion tests of this product for their application areas. They can request technical support from our company at this stage when requested. It is recommended to stick masking tape on both sides of the surface to be filled in order to prevent the product from contaminating the application area during the application. Joint width 5 – 30 mm; It can be between 5 – 15 mm. Joint roving suitable for application width should be used. The cartridge or sausage tip is cut at an angle of 45° in accordance with the width of the surface to be applied. The cartridge or sausage mouth is opened and put into the appropriate gun and fixed to the gun by placing the angled cut end on it. Derby 1025 MS Polymer Mastic is applied uniformly, evenly and continuously. Care should be taken to fill it without any gaps during the application. After filling the joints, they should be smoothed immediately with a damp spatula, polishing board or finger. Then the tapes attached to the edge of the joints should be removed.
Shelf life
18 months in its unopened original packaging, under appropriate storage conditions and at room temperature.
Warning
Derby 1025 MS Polymer Mastic, which is smeared on the application areas, can be cleaned with white spirit or alcohol when it is wet (incomplete curing). The cured product can only be cleaned mechanically. The above mentioned (skin bonding, curing…) times are valid at 20°C surface and 50% humidity. This period is extended at low temperatures and shortened at high temperatures. Derby 1025 MS Polymer Mastic adheres to many building materials without using a primer. However, very absorbent, glossy, surface-treated, paint-coated materials should be tested before application. Derby Kimya is not responsible for the problems that may arise from the use of the product for other than its intended purpose or failure to comply with the application conditions stated above. It can be painted over. However, the paint may crack due to the movement of the applied joints. The application should not be made under strong sunlight. During the application, goggles and gloves should be used, and contact of the product with eyes and skin should be avoided.
